   Wolverine supplies wholesale electric power
   to five member-cooperatives:

  • Cherryland Electric Cooperative in Grawn, Michigan

  • Great Lakes Energy in Boyne City, Michigan

  • HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Portland, Michigan

  • Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op in Onaway, Michigan

  • Wolverine Power Marketing Cooperative in Cadillac, Michigan
   Wolverine Power Cooperative is a not-for-profit,
   member-owned generation and transmission
   electric cooperative based in Cadillac, Michigan.
Wolverine Statistics:

  • Owns and operates five electric generating facilities capable of producing 200 megawatts of internal generation, primarily peaking capacity
  • Maintains 130 distribution substations and 36 transmission substations
  • Serves member-cooperatives with over 1,600 miles of bulk transmission lines
  • Owns and operates a state-of-the-art Energy Control Center for monitoring of all transmission and merchant functions
  • Had an annual peak demand in 2005 of 451 megawatts
  • Sold a total of 2,240,081 MWh to transmission member systems in 2005
  • Receives all financing from the private sector, with no government funding
  • Regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
